Sr Director, Multi-Site Operations & Logistics - REQ # 1125

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Sr Director, Multi-Site Operations & Logistics in Suwanee, GA

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Director, Multi-Site Operations & Logistics will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of the warehousing network as well as the inbound and outbound logistics function. They will focus on strategy development and implementation to optimize supply chain processes, improve efficiencies, and reduce costs. This role is crucial for managing our supply chain and promoting a culture focused on delighting our customers, while driving revenue and profitability. As such, this leader will possess all the relevant skills and experience to work and influence cross-functionally across the Company. This leader will be responsible for building a high-performing team to elevate existing performance through process improvement and technology, operating at pace with agility and flexibility.

This role will be based outside Atlanta, Georgia, in Suwanee. The leader will have a team of warehouse leaders (Distribution Center Managers) and Director, Logistics reporting to them. This individual will report directly to our Vice President, Supply Chain.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee, develop, and implement warehousing and logistics strategies to optimize output and performance
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Company’s warehousing network and transportation flows, ensuring the highest process efficiencies while also producing targeted levels of safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Oversee and manage logistics service providers to ensure carrier compliance to committed KPIs, operating standards, and service level agreements
  • Oversee and manage the 3PL network to ensure strategic alignment and operational efficiency
  • Implement process improvements and technological innovations to enhance customer satisfaction and efficiency, inclusive of warehouse capital expenditures
  • Responsible for achieving committed performance levels for safety, quality, delivery, and cost across the warehouse operations
  • Responsible for achieving logistics delivery and cost targets for inbound and outbound transportation flows
  • Develop and implement sustainable lean practices across the warehouse and logistics network in order to achieve necessary levels of process improvements that result in higher customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with operational leaders at each site to anticipate staffing needs based on volume plans, creating and utilizing staffing tools to adapt to changes in business demand
  • Oversee the annual financial budgeting process for warehouse operations and logistics, holding responsibility for submitting the aggregate budget for warehouse operations and logistics, as well as gaining executive approval
  • Collaborate with other departments to align supply chain strategies with overall Company goals
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the warehouse operations and logistics teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Partner with EHS to foster a safe work environment and enforce safety protocols
  • Willing to travel domestically (and possibly internationally) up to 40% to oversee regional warehouses and attend various Company meetings and training sessions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field required; master’s degree a plus
  • 10+ years related experience in logistics and distribution center operations with 8+ years managerial experience
  • Deep understanding of the macro supply chain function and best practices, including deep experience using lean methodologies to drive process improvements that result in safer operations, higher process quality, and higher on-time delivery
  • Track record of P&L ownership and driving operational cost improvements
  • Track record of managing multiple facilities and large operational teams, while driving world class employee engagement
  • Familiarity with supply chain management software and technologies, such as ERP systems; knowledge of SAP-S4/EWM a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player demonstrating METUS core values including a desire to win together, deliver excellence, drive sustainability, focus on execution and learn continuously
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

SKILLS YOU WILL NEED:

  • Leadership: Ability to lead and direct both inbound and outbound operations at multiple facilities, setting and surpassing targets while ensuring alignment with Company goals
  • Coaching: Ability to effectively coach and guide direct reports and broad team members to foster growth and development
  • Communication: Practicing open and continuous communication, effectively presenting information in a clear and concise manner to keep others informed
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and solve problems promptly and effectively, addressing issues directly as they arise
  • Industry Understanding: Business and intellectual competencies, including a strong understanding of warehouse management and supply chain/logistics trends
  • Strategic Execution: Ability to effectively plan and execute strategies to achieve desired outcomes

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $156,000 and $214,500 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid [parental/disability/emergency/etc.] leave, if eligible.
