Die Maintenance Technician II

Location: Maysville, KY

POSITION SUMMARY

Apply knowledge gained by technical training and experience of machine processes and capacities to determine tool requirements and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts. Analyze blueprints or prototype parts to determine tools, fixtures and equipment needed for the manufacturing operation.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Start molding machine, observe operation and make program or tooling adjustments to ensure quality manufacturing according to parts model specifications. Regularly monitor operating procedures to ensure proper process and quality.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve process conditions and problems to improve production or workflow.
  • Assist supervisor to design, develop and implement scheduled maintenance procedures. Perform die maintenance, preventative maintenance, machine troubleshooting and repair of production equipment requiring the use of any or all shop maintenance equipment such as drill presses, lathes, milling machines and surface grinders.
  • Troubleshoot and determine root cause of problems, reporting these to Production and Supervisor.
  • Perform preventive maintenance requirements on tools, fixtures and equipment and perform record-keeping duties to document maintenance programs/schedules, work orders, purchases and inventories.
  • Knowledge of A3 (8-step) method for troubleshooting root cause on difficult issues
  • Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
  • Accomplish responsibilities by fostering a team environment through facilitating teamwork, assisting in the training of others, cross-training, heightened constant communication, participating in problem identification, and resolution.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Engineering Department by acting as a liaison between engineering personnel and other departments to gain information, resolve problems, and enhance relations.
  • Support 5S activities through general housekeeping of work area to ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ die maintenance and/or machining experience.
  • Broad and detailed knowledge of maintenance and production methods.
  • Detailed knowledge of statistics and statistical process control.
  • Verbal, written, and cross-cultural communication skills, emphasizing interpersonal and technical writing/drawing skills.
  • Familiarity with safety precautions such as Lock-out/Tag-out, Arc Flash protection, welding, and personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to use machine shop tools and equipment.
  • Ability to use measurement tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and understand technical materials/drawings and documents related to MEHVAC’s products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree, or dedicated program in Industrial Maintenance or related area.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $26.93/hr and $37.02/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
