Engineering Tech II

Location: Maysville, KY

This position will require training in Japan and Thailand.

POSITION SUMMARY

Apply knowledge gained by technical training and experience of machine processes and capacities to repair, maintain, and adjust production machinery and equipment in functional and safe working order to support production operations and train others accordingly Communicate to Supervisor any irregular issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Start machine, observe operation, and make program or tooling adjustments to ensure quality manufacturing according to parts model specifications. Regularly monitor operating procedures to ensure proper process and quality.
  • Perform record-keeping duties to document maintenance schedules, work orders, purchases, and inventories.
  • Place purchase orders as necessary to maintain and improve machine condition.
  • Troubleshoot all electrical.
  • Proficient level in ac/dc theory, motors, relay logic, wiring, use of multi-meter, various components, and associated wiring.
  • Proficient level in PLC control. This includes monitoring PLC to determine root cause, along with use of electrical schematics. Make small PLC programming modifications as required to maintain and/or improve processes. Troubleshoot servo issues.
  • Proficient level in basic GOT (HMI) programming.
  • Troubleshoot all mechanical issues.
  • Proficient level with various tools such as drill, tap, slide hammer, gear puller, shear, brake, drill press, feeler gauges.
  • Proficient level in both detailed and assembly drawings.
  • Work with Maintenance Supervisor/Engineer to identify, analyze, and resolve process conditions and problems to improve production or workflow.
  • Troubleshoot and determine root cause of problems, reporting these to Production and Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Perform preventive maintenance requirements on tools, fixtures and equipment, and document in maintenance programs.
  • Perform special projects as requested by the Engineering Department.
  • Train subordinates in operational and maintenance procedures.
  • Troubleshoot all mechanical issues
  • Proficient level with various tools such as drill, tap, slide hammer, gear puller, shear, brake, drill press, feeler gauges.
  • Proficient level with both detailed and assembly drawings.
  • Proficient level with repair and assembly (and disassembly) of mechanical devices including bearings, shafts, springs, couplings, gears, clutches, bushings, cams, chains, belts).
  • Proficient level in A3 (8-step) method for troubleshooting root cause on difficult issues.
  • Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
  • Accomplish responsibilities by fostering a team environment through facilitating teamwork, assisting in the training of others, cross-training, heightened constant communication, participating in problem identification, and resolution.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Engineering Department by acting as a liaison between engineering personnel and other departments to gain information, resolve problems, and enhance relations.
  • Support 5S activities through general housekeeping of work area to ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance or related area preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years high-speed production maintenance manufacturing environment.
  • Broad and detailed knowledge of maintenance, diagnostic/troubleshooting, and production methods.
  • Familiarity with safety precautions such as Lock-out/Tag-out, Arc Flash protection, welding, and personal protective equipment.
  • Experience in Programmable Logic Control (PLC) knowledge.

  • Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to use machine shop tools and equipment. Verbal, written, and cross cultural-communication skills, emphasizing interpersonal and group presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documents related to MEHVAC’s products.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $26.93/hr and $37.02/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
