Calibration Technician

Location: Maysville, KY

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform daily lab inspections, calibrations, conduct investigation of line quality problems, and provide feedback to Quality Control Manager about the daily line quality condition for assigned area.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use the basic equipment in the quality control department (e.g., CMM's, Roundness Tester, Profile Tester, Strength Testing Machine, and Universal Testing Machine). Use lab equipment as necessary to perform required test.
  • Perform gauge calibrations and tracking within required timing to meet all certification requirements.
  • Develop, writing and updating inspection/calibration methods for use and care to support quality control functions.
  • Add and certify new gauges during new model start up, drawing change timing, or other change point timing.
  • Read, understand and interpret assembly and part drawings to ensure that all critical points of quality control with gauges are being met.
  • Management/Tracking of gauge life. Report end of life requirement to quality control management.
  • Quote and create purchase orders for calibrations and or replacement gauges.
  • Attend training as required to enhance and maintain knowledge of quality control (e.g., specific test equipment training, problem solving methods, audit methods, Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Participate in audits with support of other quality control team members.
  • Accomplish responsibilities by fostering a team environment through facilitating teamwork, assisting in the training of others, cross-training, heightened constant communication, participating in problem identification, and resolution.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Quality Control Department by acting as a liaison between quality control personnel and other departments to gain information, resolve problems and enhance relations.
  • Support 5S activities through general housekeeping of work area to ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment working in quality control, or equivalent, three (3) years' experience with calibration, preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality control, engineering, metrology, and production methods.
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical process control
  • Verbal, written, and cross-cultural communication skills, emphasizing interpersonal and group presentation skills.
  • Computer literate, emphasizing experience with Microsoft Office Suite, or similar software.
  • Basic understanding of technical and gauge drawings and documents.
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours, with short notice.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $21.93/hr and $30.15/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
