Director, Project Management

Location: Suwanee, GA

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Project Management will lead and oversee all project management activities within Mitsubishi Electric’s HVAC organization, located in Suwanee, GA. This strategic role is responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects across product development, production, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with deep expertise in both waterfall and agile project management methodologies, capable of driving operational excellence and cross-functional collaboration.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and manage the Project Management Office (PMO), setting standards, processes, and best practices for project execution throughout the organization.
  • Drive strict adherence to the established project development process, ensuring all project teams comply with defined protocols and best practices.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle for manufacturing initiatives, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, KPI’s and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and resource availability.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and finance to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Champion the adoption and integration of waterfall and agile methodologies, selecting the appropriate framework based on project needs and team capabilities.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Report project status, key milestones, and performance metrics to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, tools, and team capabilities.
  • Mentor and develop project managers and project teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards throughout all project activities.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; master’s degree is preferred.
  • PMP certification is required
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in both waterfall and agile project management methodologies, with proven success applying these frameworks in manufacturing settings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing project management software and tools.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and quality assurance

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $149,600 and $205,700/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
