Sr Software Developer

Location: Suwanee, GA

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following an agile software development lifecycle.
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Improves operations by conducting systems analysis, recommending changes in policies and procedures.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
  • Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Supports and develops software engineers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.
  • Designs software systems that scale to tens of thousands of users.
  • Actively develops and/or influences system architectural design.
  • Produces maintainable, testable, extensible, clean, well-documented code according to system design.
  • Maintains and publishes new releases for existing software products.
  • Develop time estimates for development tasks.
  • Participate in code review.
  • Use revision control and bug tracking systems.

Education and experience:

  • B.S or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Self-motivated software developer with a strong desktop applications background and/or web and mobile application development experience who is capable of also writing for embedded platforms.
  • 7-10 years hands-on programming experience required.
  • Experience writing code for both compiled and interpreted languages.
  • Expert-level programming capability in at least one language is required.
  • Familiarity with both object-oriented and scripting languages.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, able to multi-task, and good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with revision control systems, build systems, and working within a team environment.
  • Software packaging and deployment experience preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have desktop application experience (C/C++/C#/Java), web application development experience in (HTML5/CSS/JavaScript), server-side programming.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $104,000 and $143,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
