Director, Software Products

Location: Cypress, CA

POSITION SUMMARY:

Mitsubishi Electric Innovation Center is looking for an experienced technical leader and manager to build Software Products. You will join a dynamic and startup like, fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, create and roll-out SaaS/IoT products and platforms. The candidate must have broad engineering competence and in-depth technical knowledge of cloud-based software systems, as well as demonstrated experience of successfully planning, organizing, managing teams and conducting software development projects. This person must be a strong team player with effective communication skills and must work very well with others. This position will interface with all areas and levels of the company to insure development of SW consistent with the needs and vision of the company.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with cross functional team of stakeholders, end-users, engineers, UX designers and product leaders to understand the problems to solve.
  • Architect, develop, define new product architectures, strategies based on best technical design approach and leading development of such digital solutions and products.
  • Instill best agile practices for software development and documentation, assure products meet requirements and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes. Create product roadmaps, define requirements, create workflow diagrams, write user stories, define, and prioritize software product backlog.
  • Oversee implementation, testing, deployment and support of digital solutions and products using mobile, web, cloud, and big data technologies.
  • Manage a team of developers and testers to execute digital solutions.
  • Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management
  • Define product release strategies, ensuring the readiness of the various business partners.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Identify business risks and develop risk mitigation measures and plan.
  • Ensure product quality by testing software features to ensure they satisfy the acceptance criteria and work with stakeholders and end users to coordinate user acceptance testing activities.

Qualifications

  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in hands-on SaaS software architecting, designing and coding mobile, web, cloud-based applications.
  • Proven record of successful management of SaaS products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in coding with modern frameworks including Nest.js, React, and other web technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously and solve complex problems of diverse scope.
  • Excellent critical listening, analytic, presentation and writing skills. Strong attention to details, strong analytical thinker, problem-solver.
  • Fluency in requirements management and agile software lifecycle management tools. Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC), Product Board, JIRA, and Confluence systems.
  • Scrum Certification (PSPO or CSPO) (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong acumen in BPMN

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $132,800 and $182,600/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
