Product Manager – Comfort App - REQ # 1157

Location: Suwanee, GA

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Product Manager - Comfort App in Suwanee, GA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is responsible for overall management of the mobile app and IoT platform, Comfort app. The position will research and coordinate business, field and end-customer needs and requests to ensure that kumo cloud is delivering on the needs of its users. This person will write epics, user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team and communicate enhancements, updates, and new feature introductions across departments. They will lead new product introductions and ensure the business is launch ready at each release. The product manager will work with the development team and key stakeholders to define the future vision, roadmap, and backlog to lead the HVAC market with a world class user experience.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work as liaison between METUS sales, marketing, UX team, product management, operations, development, testing and customers.
  • Coordinate releases and major launches into the business
  • Work with customers to define new features, user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Work with the SCRUM team to define timelines
  • Work with product marketing to develop communication path for market entry
  • Train support teams to ensure customer success
  • Identify, document, and prioritize system issues and resolution
  • Support testing and market compliance of product introductions.
  • Manage projects within project timelines and within budgets allocated
  • Ensure alignment of internal/external resources to achieve product goals.

The non-essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Willing to travel up to 20% to for various Company meetings and training both domestically and possibly internationally
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Training:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Management Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience in software product management or related field
  • Expertise in HVAC equipment/industry or other smart home products
  • Self-motivated individual with web and mobile application product experience
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, able to multi-task, and good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinking using LEAN continuous improvement methods
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of Agile (experience using JIRA/Atlassian suite preferred)
  • Ability to engage users and find true opportunities to add value to their live
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
  • Team player demonstrating METUS core values including a desire to win together, deliver excellence, drive sustainability, focus on execution and learn continuously.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $104,000 and $143,000 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid [parental/disability/emergency/etc.] leave, if eligible.
