Industrial Engineer - REQ # 1105

Location: Suwanee, GA

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Industrial Engineer in Suwanee, GA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for providing critical thinking, in-depth data analysis, and workplace solutions using lean methodologies. The person will be involved in the day-to-day operations of all NA distribution centers, 3PL facilities, and logistics teams, as well as responsible for improving processes using lean tools. He/she will map and analyze processes and identify ways to reduce waste, improve workflow, and otherwise increase efficiency. This position will also provide analysis and support the project management team members.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide critical thinking and in-depth data analysis for warehousing and process improvement workflows
  • Develop and support projects using lean methodologies and tools in order to improve the outgoing quality of the distribution centers, improve on-time shipping, and reduce costs by eliminating waste
  • Working with all DC and Logistics Managers, design an efficient warehouse process flow, implementing process improvements using lean methodologies like value stream mapping, paretoing, problem solving, and managing for daily improvement (MDI). The outcome will be the optimal utilization of labor and efficient process flow within the METUS distribution centers
  • Support the current and future 3PL facilities with operational expertise and standard work practices
  • Working with project management team members outside of warehouse operations to provide analytical support and ERP (SAP) workflow improvements
  • Responsible for leading / supporting classical lean activities such as: visual aids, MDI boards, work measurement, time & motion studies, facility layouts, data analyses, MHE, and other productivity improvements utilizing lean concepts
  • Develop and maintain SOP’s and standard work for operations
  • Willing to travel up to 25% to for various Company meetings and training both domestically and possibly internationally
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business required (Industrial Engineering preferred), or extensive relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of previous experience with work standards, layout planning, lean processes, process improvements, and project management in either a manufacturing or sales & distribution operation center
  • Demonstrated work experience with extensive data analysis and reporting
  • SAP or other ERP experience preferred
  • Candidate should be familiar with Industrial Engineering concepts, Warehouse Management Systems, and Logistics
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Exposure to lean at a manufacturing or fulfillment/distribution center is preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); AutoCAD experience is preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $68,000 and $93,500 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid [parental/disability/emergency/etc.] leave, if eligible.
